SUMMARY:Webinar: Protecting Your Organization From Caregiver Misconduct (And Its Many Legal Repercussions)
DESCRIPTION:This presentation will cover the Caregiver Misconduct Reporting Law applicable to almost all Wisconsin health care entities which requires significant investigation and report within 7 calendar days when an employed or contracted caregiver has potentially abused\, neglected or stolen from a patient. There are many nuances to this law that can result in patient harm and significant regulatory penalties\, as well as potential claims. There are specific proactive measures that health care executives should ensure are taken to prevent these potential outcomes. \nLearning Objectives\n\nUnderstand the Caregiver Misconduct Reporting Law and related regulatory requirements.\nLearn specific proactive steps to take from an organizational standpoint to minimize the potential for caregiver misconduct.\nLearn the potential regulatory and risk consequences of caregiver misconduct and will learn methods for proactively preventing citations and other legal consequences.\n\nACHE-WI Qualified Credit\n\nAs an independent chartered chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives\, ACHE – Wisconsin is authorized to award 1.0 total hours of ACHE Qualified Education credit toward advancement or recertification in the American College of Healthcare Executives. \nParticipants in this program who wish to have it considered for ACHE Qualified Education credit should list their attendance when they apply to the American College of Healthcare Executives for advancement or recertification. \nPresenters\nSarah E.
