Kathleen M. Olewinski, FACHE earned the distinction of board certification in healthcare management in 1998 and advanced to Fellow in 2008. Experienced hospital administrator and health system executive, serving in key leadership roles in traditional and non-traditional health care settings and academia. Currently serving as Director, Health Care Administration Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee since 2013. Member of the ACHE Higher Education Network; recognized nationally with the ACHE Higher Education Network Award in the undergraduate category for 4 consecutive years. Faculty Advisor for award winning Future Healthcare Executives student organization at UWM.
Experienced educator and mentor, with 30 years teaching experience in higher education with a concentration in health care and business administration. Board member and leader of state and national professional associations; experience as a state society president and conference chair for multiple professional organizations including the Women in Healthcare Leadership Conference with HFMA and ACHE Wisconsin Chapters. Charter member of the ACHE Wisconsin Chapter since Day 1 in 2004, and ACHE member for more than 25 years. Faculty Liaison serving on the ACHE-WI Board of Directors; co-chair of the Leadership Development Program since 2016 and mentor program leader since its inception. Program Committee member since 2013; Annual Conference Planning Committee; Membership Committee for 10 years; Bylaws Task Force; inaugural chair of Social Media Committee strategic planning initiative. ACHE volunteer service at the national level includes serving on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Healthcare Management; ACHE Regent’s Advisory Council since 2014; and ACHE Congress educational content review team for Student Track. ACHE Service Award recognition in 2016; Distinguished Service Award and Exemplary Service Award in 2021.
