Session Description:
“A conversation for everyone—explore how to create leadership opportunities that welcomes, supports, and advances and values all voices.”
Creating diversity in leadership is not just an equity check list item to assure inclusion of women and underrepresented people —it’s an organizational opportunity. This varied and dynamic panel brings together leaders from several healthcare systems along with representatives from architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) firms that will explore practical, forward-thinking ways to create and foster more inclusive leadership opportunities.
While the discussion will highlight the advancement of women and other underrepresented groups, it will also address challenges that affect everyone in this field—such as imposter syndrome, wellbeing, and navigating professional identity. Panelists will discuss strategies for modern mentorship, succession planning, training programs, and attracting and maintaining fresh, diverse talent to the healthcare and AEC fields. It is not only important to bring new talent into these fields but also to provide them with a sense of belonging and purpose once they are here.
This is not a conversation about what has held people back or any injustices of the past. It is a discussion about creating opportunities to move forward and make our field better, safer, and stronger. Attendees will leave with not only new talking points that often aren’t discussed, but also with actionable ideas to bring back to their own organizations: tools to foster equitable growth, encourage collaboration, and build leadership teams that reflect the communities they serve today and in the future.
