About the organization: Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin is the largest hunger-relief organization in the state, operating food banks out of Milwaukee and Appleton to serve 35 counties in Wisconsin. Together with our member food pantries, we provide healthy and nutritious food to those who face hunger. We are also developing innovative solutions to improve the health of our communities, solve root causes of hunger, and advocate on behalf of those we serve.

Activity Details: Volunteers will be participating in a sorting, packaging, labeling, or cleaning project. This could range from packaging shelf-stable food boxes to be shipped to food pantries, labeling canned goods, sorting meat products to provide meal programs with real protein, boxing fresh produce to send to homeless shelters, or packing bulk product into family friendly sized portions. Our staff will give you specific information about your task and assist you throughout your shift.

Required Dress & Safety Precautions: We ask that you dress comfortably as you will be working in a warehouse. Closed-toe shoes are required for all volunteer activities. We recommend: hair ties for securing loose hair, a jacket or sweatshirt in case the temperature varies within the warehouse, and removal of dangling jewelry before participating in volunteer activities.

Age Requirements: Volunteers must be at least 10 years old. Youth, ages 10-16, must be accompanied by their parent or guardian.

Location: Our facility address is 1700 W. Fond du Lac Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53205. We are located approximately 1/2 mile northwest of the Fond du Lac Avenue/McKinley Avenue exit from I-43. Please park in our main entrance parking lot off of Fond du Lac Avenue. Click here for directions.
