Thomas Shorter Appointed Regent for the American College of Healthcare Executives

Thomas Shorter, Chair of Godfrey & Kahn’s Health Care Industry Group, has been appointed District 3 Regent for the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), effective immediately.  Shorter joins the Council of Regents, which serves as a natural non-governing body that promotes ACHE’s vision, mission and values to the governance and nationwide districts. The support and dedication of the Regents also helps the Board of Governors steer the organization.

Shorter represents hospitals, physicians’ groups, research institutions and health care related organizations, as well as other businesses, providing legal counsel on health care, corporate, labor and employment and regulatory matters. Shorter handles matters regarding Medicare compliance, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA), Physician Self-Referral (Stark), and Anti-Kickback.
